Scary Silhouettes
Week Three: All Classes
Scary Silhouettes!
We made Scary Silhouettes by using a cardboard shape that I provided (made from cereal boxes- RECYCLE, REUSE, REPURPOSE!) in the shape of a bat, cat, ghost, witches hat, haunted house, spider and raven. (Nevermore, nevermore!)
The shape was gently taped with painters tape to heavy black cardstock. Using yellow paint first to really make the silhouette stand out the kids went around the shape to create the outline. The younger kids used sea sponges attached to clothes pins to dunk into the paint, the middle and oldest groups used Q-Tips. Additional Halloween colors were added making layers of colors until they reached the edge of the black cardstock.
Happy Haunting!
Things to Remember:
Always use yellow to outline first
Make sure to not use the sponge or Q-tip like a paintbrush so you can see the cool patterns the sponge makes and the circular shape of the Q-Tip imprint.
